  • Band I 47.000 to 68.000 MHz - Now obsolete Analogue TV allocation
    • This has now been re-allocated for many other purposes
  • NEW Republic of Ireland Amateur Band !! 1 2
    • 40.000-45.000 MHz (8 metre) Band
  • These are the PMR Bands available to use via a licence from Ofcom:
    • Band I - 55.75 to 68.00 1
      • NEW Republic of Ireland Amateur Band !! 2
        • 54.000-69.900 MHz (5 metre) Band
    • Low Band - 68.08125 to 87.49375
      • IoT - 70.5 to 71.5 MHz 3
      • IoT - 80.0 to 81.5 MHz 4
    • Mid Band - 137.9625 to 165.04375
      • VHF Marine Band
    • High Band - 165.04375 to 173.09375
    • Band III - 177.20625 to 207.49375 5
    • UHF1 - 425.00625 to 449.49375
    • UHF2 - 450.0 – 470.0

About Band Edges, Channel Offsets & Frequency Listings

A lot of folk wonder why “Channel Offsets” are employed, and why this is done in association with “Band Edges”

  1. This is within the original BBC Analogue 405-line TV band where it all started !!

  2. The R.o.I. have allocated two very large Amateur Radio Bands in here…

  3. This is a sub-band within the low-band PMR allocation
    This sub-band was used as an AM Fire Brigade Band 

  4. These were the AM “input channels” used by the Fire Brigade
    As in footnote #3 above 

  5. This is within the original ITV Analogue 405-line TV band where it all started !!
    Band III
    The DAB allocation is a sub-band in here… Digital Audio Broadcasting
